(C) Release of Organisation grants towards hosting of Zonal, National and International Events in the State: -
The Sports Authority of Goa releases grants to recognised State Sports Associations towards the hosting of approval Zonals / National and International events in the State of Goa, on 80% basis on admissible expenditure subject to a limit of Rs. 1.00 lakh incase of Zonal Tournaments, Rs. 3.00 lakhs incase of National Events, where the no. of Participants are less than 200 and Rs. 5.00 lakhs incase where the participants are more than 200 and Rs. 10.00 lakhs for International Level Tournaments.
An Association can host a Zonal / National or International event once every 4 years.
To host a Zonal / National or International events in the State the President / Secretary of an Association has to make an application to the SAG informing the SAG in advance, at least 6 months to one year of hosting the event in the State as the same requires the approval of the General Body of SAG.
On approving the same to, approval is conveyed to the Association.
The Association has to submit to the SAG the following documents.
- Letter from the National Sports Federation allotting the Zonal, National or International event to the concerned State Associations.
- Estimated Expenditure stating the Income and Expenditure anticipated by the host Associations.
Based on the application of the Association the application is put up for approval and sanction of 80% of the admissible grants at least on month prior to the commencement of the Event.
On completing of the event, the Association has to audit the accounts of the event and submit the audited accounts along with a detailed report of the event.
After scrutinizing the accounts and the report, balance 20% of the grants is released to the Association.
(II) Recognition of State Sports Clubs: -
The Sports Authority of Goa gives recognition to State Sports Clubs desirous of promoting Sports in the State.
(A) To register a Sports Club with the SAG the following documents have to be submitted in quadruplicate with one copy in Original to the Executive Director, SAG.
- Constitution of the Club on a Rs. 20/- Stamp paper.
- N.O.C. from the Chief Officer of a Municipal Council / Secretary of the Village Panchayat, as the case may be, stating that the Municipal Council / Panchayat has no objection for the Sports Club to be established in the area and to register with the Sports Authority of Goa. However, incase there are one or two Clubs already in existence the N.O.C. should mentioned that the distance from the Club to be registered and existing Clubs is at a Distance of more than 3 Kms.
- A list of minimum 50 members of the Club giving their names, age, address, Profession and signatures.
- A list of Executive Committee for Managing Committee giving their names, designation, age, address and contact nos and signatures.
- List of activities to be under taken by the Club.
(B) On submission of the above documents, the Club is issued a letter granting the Club temporary recognition for a period of three years during which time the Club has to submit annually the following Documents.
- Minutes of the General Body Meeting held.
- Annual activities Report.
- Balance Sheet of Accounts
- A Certificate from a State recognised Association certifying that the Club had organised a State Level Tournament during the year.
(C) After completing 3 years of Temporary recognition the reports of the Club are placed before the General Body of the SAG for approval . If approved, the same is conveyed to the Club. The Club then becomes a permanently recognised Club of the SAG.
(D) The Club on attaining Permanents Recognition will be entitled for grants towards Development / Construction of infrastructure upto a maximum of Rs. 10.00 lakhs.
The Clubs will also be eligible to apply for annual maintenance grants based on the admissible expenditure incurred by Club upto a limit of Rs. 10,000/- being 80% of admissible expenditure incase of A Category Club Rs. 8,000/- being B Category Club and Rs. 5,000/- being C Category Club.
III) Cash Awards: -
The Sports Authority of Goa, awards cash prizes to outstanding Sportsperson who win the first three positions at National, International & Olympic Events and also to those Sportspersons who are selected to represent the Country at Asian, Olympic, world and other recognised International Sports Tournaments.
The cash awards are also given to Sportspersons who are recipients of State & National Awards.
The Awards for each Category of Events are detailed in Annexure IV.
(IV) Organisation of Rural Sports: -
The Sports Authority of Goa organizes Sports / Games for the Rural Area Youth of the State, who are U/16 years of age as on 31 st Dec. of every year, and are resident in Rural Areas and are student or non students.
Circular are sent to schools that are in the Rural Areas of Goa, based on the information available with the Education Department.
The following Games Sports are organised every year under the Rural Sports Scheme.
- Hockey (Boys & Girls)
- Football (Boys)
- Volleyball (Boys & Girls)
- Kho Kho (Boys & Girls)
- Kabaddi (Boys & Girls)
- Athletic (Boys & Girls)
